Was watching the news yesterday ....when the news story came up re the 4 NY stabbings... my kid reckons at least half the boys in her year carry a blade... I called bullshit but she is adamant ... all for show she reckons but they are always pulling the blades out to show off... these are 15/16 year olds... in a leafy Essex village... oh and app' well over half her year smoke dope regularly ... my kid tried it but chucked up... so she says... blimey get me back to the old days with a pair of DM's and a pot of evo stick... at least you knew where you stood then

Apart from the fact that those numbers are from 7 years ago since when this sort of nonsense has boomed, and apart from the fact that those figures only cover London and apart from the fact that you assume that one copper with normal holidays could make several arrests per day (and do the paperwork and make the court appearances that go with it). And apart from the fact we are taking no account of the vast resources devoted to blokes patting women's arses 35 years ago and apart from the fact that any old made smear against a (preferably Tory) politician has a 100 man squad assigned to it for 15 years.
Apart from all the above your snark is bang on the money.

Surely, you're BOTH right.
Given the tsunami of immigrants and a massive population explosion we've been blessed with, it is utter fucking madness to lose that number of police officers. They ought to have INCREASED by 20,000, not decreased.
On the other hand, seeing as there are so few police now, they should be nowhere near Twitbook or nail parlours getting rainbows painted on their fucking nails, and should target resources and their efforts towards serious crime.
